Act Zero: Awakening
You awaken your eyes, heart and ears to the possibilities of life.
Act I: A Poet’s Calling
As a Poet, you are called to embrace the truth that surrounds you, to delve into the depths of your own existence, and to capture the essence of life in words. The day of your becoming: You will experience life as worthy; as more worthy than being, feelings and your existence. You sense a truth that should be embraced, that was left alone barren and sterile. The truth is so fertile it explodes in your face. Yet, you hesitate; and as doubt creeps in, devouring your confidence and leaving you feeling unsure… You decide to not let it win. You remember: You are worthy, deserving of love and acceptance, exactly as you are. You allow your lips to part sometimes.
Act II: The Art of Rest
To rest into your poetry, you must engulf any urge to fill silence. You must be able to stand overwhelm, distress, correctness, wrongness, and you must learn resistance without relying on it to save you. The urge to fill the silence can be overwhelming, but it is important to make your way quiet, so you can rest long enough with inaction, and now sacrifice the self in an act of life- or magic- preservation. It may be difficult to believe that rest is enough, that progress is not the only path. But do not let the expectations you perceived with your mind about society pause the replenishing of the spirit. You must be careful.
Act III: Practice Full-Time Floating
Despite the doubts that gnaw at you, you will eventually spring into action. You must. All poets must. Necessity is what all poets wait for, and they know mother is not coming to invent it. You will learn that you can let go of the flow of life, and still bear in your heart that you are worthy, capable, and deserving of all the good that comes your way.
So worthy, that you are a flow of life itself.
(and then spring into action–)
